Departing Ludlow, the train crosses an impressive trestle just north of the station.

After a grueling uphill climb, the tracks level off again at Summit. Just short of the top of the hill, the train crosses a rural grade crossing.

The crew's twelve hours of service come to an end at Mount Holly and the train comes to a stop for a crew change. The late evening sun highlights the lines of CEFX 139.

Finally, with a new crew on board, the train continues north towards Rutland. This crew will run the locomotives from Rutland to the interchange with Canadian Pacific's Delaware & Hudson at Whitehall, New York, and return to Rutland, where the MAC's will make yet another run to Riverside just after daybreak. The MAC's may never rest, but we need to, so we break off the chase at Mount Holly and head for home.
